What's on your family's table?

WHAT THE WORLD EATS

"We all have to eat, but what we eat varies drastically from person to person, culture to culture..." (Marie Claire. USA)

Germany's GEO magazine was the first to publish a comprehensive nutrition story based on Peter Menzel and Faith D'Aluisio's most recent book, Hungry Planet: What The World Eats. Families from Australia, Chad—including a refugee family from Darfur, Sudan—China, Ecuador, Germany, Greenland, Kuwait, Okinawa, Poland, the USA, and others are featured in large portraits, each with a week's worth of food.

We read about it in menzelphoto.com (Peter Menzel's site). Look at our family's dinner table!

Russian pies

As I baked pies

We baked cheese cakes (a dough with cottage cheese - in russian named vatrushka) and sweet rolls (sloika) yesterday. I made dough in the beginning. When the dough has risen, I have unrolled it. I have added raisin in cottage cheese. I have put cottage cheese in a dough, and dough in oven. All was ready during half hour. Tasty pies have turned out!

Responsible period in child's life

Two brothers

Misha has very responsible period in his life. He gets used to a children's chamber-pot. It turns out not always well. Misha does not wish to use the pot to destination. Senior brother Maxim always is coming to the aid for Misha and supporting the brother in a difficult minute.

In Russian it named shapka-ushanka (a cap with ear-flaps)Misha has put on a head a winter cap :)) In Russian it named shapka-ushanka (a cap with ear-flaps).

We do not know why Misha has put on a head a winter capWe do not know why he made it. By the way, today at night the temperature in the street was-19 degrees on Celsius. A frost! However, it was warm in our apartment.

Some more photos of the evening Kremlin

The mosque Kul Sharif

More photos of the evening Kremlin. The mosque Kul Sharif has been destroyed almost 500 years ago by Russian armies which have taken Kazan by storm. The mosque has been restored recently. It's the greatest mosque in Russia. Our family is Orthodox. It's forbidden for Orthodox people to enter into a Muslim mosque.

It has no value, what about Putin spoke

The president of Russia for the Russian families

It has no value, what about Putin spokeIt has no value, what about Putin spoke... There is a site Toogeza.com. It's a site of a large family from Petersburg. Here we have found such interesting picture in their site. President Putin promised 250.000 roubles (approximately $9.360) to each mother who will give birth to the second child. The law about it is already accepted by the State Duma. However, action of this law begins only January, 1st, 2007. In 2007 we shall do the third child! As a last resort - in 2008 :))
